Meeting Notes - Nov 10
A well-attended meeting; we filled all the tables this week. The menu was deli tray with a yummy irresistible cake. Yes, I had the cake this week — wish I hadn’t.
We welcomed new member Ben Brashear. If you’ve been following the news, you’ll know that I called him Dan Dresher last week. (Sorry about that Ben! In any event, we are extremely pleased to have you on-board!)
Barbara and Patty proposed a mini-service project; packing gift boxes for the Durham Afterschool Program. The idea was received well, and it was decided to move forward. Everyone is to bring a small toy for a child to the December 8th meeting. Barbara and Patty will provide other items, and we will pack the boxes up at the meeting.
Pat Flores spoke about a joint service project with the Duke Circle-K; providing meals for the Ronald McDonald House. There will be more about this posted here shortly.
At this point in the meeting, there was a sudden outburst of song as Bill Self, Haywood, and Gordon led us in the Marines’ Hymn to celebrate the birthday of the Marine Corps. What a rowdy bunch…they will probably get us thrown out of TROSA.
Pancakes were discussed for the rest of the meeting. There was a 2nd call for yard signs. Beth plans to have a sign-maker update them. — Margie
